Action Committee to Eliminate Impaired Driving

We believe driving impaired is a dangerous, irresponsible and criminal act. Through impactful and positive messaging we will increase awareness of never driving impaired and to plan ahead for a safe ride home.

Committee Mission:

To eliminate impaired driving in Greater Sudbury.

Committee Objectives:

  • To develop local awareness strategies that will promote the messaging of intolerance towards impaired driving. We do this through a public awareness campaign.
  • To work collaboratively with businesses, organizations, and concerned citizens through partnerships and engagement opportunities to eliminate impaired driving, save lives and prevent injuries on our roads.
  • To work with Greater Sudbury Police Services R.I.D.E. Program year-round to spread awareness of our message to plan ahead, call a taxi or friend, and not drive impaired.

Committee Composition:

The committee includes honourary member Chief Paul Pedersen of the Greater Sudbury Police Service. In general, its members will be appointed by the Safe Ride Home Sudbury Board of Directors; and they will be persons who believe in our mission and have an interest in advancing our objectives.

We rely on the generosity of our community.

To encourage and sustain service such as this, donations are gratefully accepted. We accept donations when you ride with us or email us for more information on how to donate.
